The USS Intrepid is one of the 24 ship group of Essex class aircraft carrier, and is the fourth vessel to bare the name. The ship was laid down on the 1st of December 1941, and was completed on the 26th of April 1943. A few months later, on the 16th of August the same year, the USS Intrepid was commissioned to active duty. One of the most important battles the USS Intrepid took part in was the Battle of Leyte Gulf. The USS Intrepid was very important in several other battles, until her decommissioning, on the 15th of March 1974. During her service the USS Intrepid was the first to launch aircraft from her deck using steam catapults and being used as a recovery vessel for some space missions. Here are some of the main characteristics of the USS Intrepid as specified by the Essex class:
Asbestos is a very dangerous mineral when inhaled or swallowed by humans. Even the smallest amount can cause severe health problems to any one that comes into contact with them unprotected. This was the case with the crew members on board the USS Intrepid as they were constantly exposed to high amounts of asbestos fibers on a regular basis.
We advise anyone who was exposed to asbestos and as a result developed a severe disease, to contact a specialized attorney and have him or her develop a case. After all the legal requirements are met, the claim can be filed and shortly after that the trial will commence. In a very large portion of case, the jury awards important amounts of money to the plaintiff. This money is used for medical and treatment purposes, to the benefit of he victim.
Please feel free to contact an asbestos professional whenever you require detailed information about any type of asbestos issue you might encounter. We are glad to help, with no cost at all.
