The National Guard of the United States received this name in 1903, when the local militia was assisting the Army. There are two distinct components of the National Guard, the Air National Guard and the Army National Guard. Each serves as an internal defense mechanism, one from the ground and one from above. This includes fire fighting, organized crime fighting and other large scale interventions that the local police can’t handle.
Unfortunately, asbestos exposure was common in the National Guard as well, like all other military or navy branches. Similar to the other branches, people enlisted in the National Guard were exposed to asbestos fibers in buildings and temporary housing. The Indiana and California National Guard were the local bureaus with the most people affected by asbestos.

Asbestos abatement works could be supported by federal or government funds, but National Guard Veterans will have to ask for such services if they want to benefit from them. Also, they should keep in mind that the government offers, in some cases, financial support for medical and psychological treatment. These are only some of the benefits that a National Guard Veteran can profit from.
