USS Lawrence (DD-8) Areas With Asbestos Exposure

USS Lawrence was a Bainbridge-class destroyer laid down on April 10, 1899 and launched on November 7, 1900. It was commissioned on April 7, 1903 under Lt. Andre M. Proctor’s command with the hull number DD-8 and served in the US Navy for 16 years until it was decommissioned on June 20, 1919. During its activity, the ship carried a complement of 73 men on board and it had the main missions in Norfolk, Key West, the Caribbean, Hampton Roads, San Diego or San Francisco Bay. After the decommissioning, the ship was struck from the Naval Register on September 15, 1919. One year later, on January 3, 1920 USS Lawrence was sold for scrapping.
